Details
The finishing mill is a key piece of equipment in metal rolling production, used for the final rolling process of steel billets. Its main function is to further roll the intermediate billets after rough rolling into finished rolled products with precise dimensions, good surface quality and mechanical properties.
Core features:
High-precision control: Finishing mills need to strictly control the thickness, width, and plate shape parameters of the rolled materials. They are usually equipped with advanced automatic control systems and high-precision detection instruments to ensure that the dimensional tolerances of the finished products meet the standards.
Multi-pass rolling: Multiple rolling mills form a “finishing mill group”. Metal billets pass through each rolling mill in sequence. The thickness is reduced by a certain amount in each pass, gradually meeting the requirements of the finished product.
High rolling speed: To improve production efficiency, finishing mills usually operate at high rolling speeds. Taking hot-rolled strip steel as an example, the exit speed of the finishing mill can reach 10-20 meters per second, and some high-speed rolling lines can even achieve higher speeds.
