Vertical loop is one of the main supporting technologies for modern high-speed wire rod mills, used to maintain an appropriate amount of loop between adjacent frames to achieve tension-free rolling. Throughout the entire rolling process, everything from the loop rising after the rolled piece is bitten by the next stand to the loop retracting at the tail end is controlled by a computer.
The vertical loop is mainly composed of a loop table, support rolls, guide grooves, loop lifting rolls, and a loop scanner, among other components. Among them, the loop lifting rolls and steering guide plates are generally driven by cylinders, and the cylinders of the loop lifting rolls are controlled by double solenoid valves.
Compared with horizontal loops, vertical loops have unique advantages. In terms of the control of metal rolled pieces by the rolls, vertical loops perform better. Because the guide wears slowly, problems such as cross-sectional shape defects of metal rolled pieces and scratches on the surface of rolled pieces are less likely to occur, so the requirements for the installation of the guides of vertical loops are relatively low.
To sum up, as a key equipment in the middle and lower reaches of the bar and wire rod hot continuous rolling production line, vertical loops are widely used in high-speed wire rod and bar continuous rolling production lines, and are an important guarantee for realizing tension-free rolling and stabilizing the production rhythm.
